Is mold affecting you and your family? Do you have an old home, a water damaged home, a home with past water leaks or even a new home that was built during a lot of rain or snow? Mold may be affecting your families health.
Why use Immunolytics mold plates to help see the volume and location of airborne molds in your home?
A. This is an affordable way to test for over 37,000 species of mold.
B. Placing plates in each room will show you where the highest concentration of spores are. This helps you find the source of mold and remediate much more quickly and accurately.
How does it work?
Here's a rundown of how to plan your mold plate testing:
1. Preparation
Decide what should be tested.
A. Home
B. Vehicles
C. Pets
2. Where should you test?
A. Any area where you know or suspect there has been a water leak
B. Any room or area that causes you to cough or sneeze
C. Start at rooms with water sources then branch out to the rest of your rooms
D. Any room with a smell, especially if in basement
3. How many plates?
A. Each plate covers about a 12'x12' area. Use multiple plates in large rooms
B. Each room 12'x12' or smaller needs just one plate
C. Testing every room in your house will provide data on where mold sources could be
4. How to prepare your home
A. Keep your windows closed for at least 6 hours before testing
B. Turn on your furnace fan to keep the air circulating during the test
C. Don't sweep, dust or vacuum right before the test
D. Kids and pets can work/play as usual during the test, just no touching the plates
5. How to place the plates
A. Place the plates at least 2' off the floor and 2' from the wall
B. Remove the lid and leave the bottom half with the sticky portion facing upward
C. Set your timer for 60 minutes then place the lids back on all plates
6. Getting results
A. After 60 minutes tape and seal the lids on each test plate
B. Put in a paper or black garbage bag to keep light off the plates
C. Store in warm dry area (ex. Cabinet above fridge or dryer) for 5-6 days
D. On day 5-6 open and count (and record) mold colonies growing on plates
1-2 colonies are acceptable, after that your chances of health being affected by mold goes up. Contact Matt for a consult if you need further guidance.
